From March 14 (Fri) to April 5 (Sat), 2025, WALL_alternative will present "Composing Landscapes with Harmony," a group exhibition featuring five contemporary artists whose works are deeply rooted in Japanese traditional aesthetics and philosophy.
This exhibition will explore how Japanese aesthetics evolve in response to contemporary times through the perspectives of five artists experimenting with new expressions in painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and ceramics.
Curated in collaboration with Kentaro Watanabe, an independent curator based in Kyoto, the exhibition builds upon the concept of "Discovering Beauty Through Harmony," previously presented at MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2024. This iteration takes inspiration from Azabu, the cultural and historical backdrop of WALL_alternative, while incorporating a newly designed exhibition space in partnership with YOKOYAMA TATAMI, a Kyoto-based creative studio.
