Sue Kim’s residency @ Florìda Genova Italy
Saturday, 14.12, at 6:30 PM, Florìda invites you to discover what has been created during the month-long artistic residency of Sue Kim and Alice Rissotto.
The artists have been experimenting in parallel with materials, findings, constructions, and reinterpretations that evolve across space and time, guided by the curatorship of Federica Balletto. On Saturday, you’ll have the chance to meet them and delve deeper into their research through three installations specifically created for Florìda.
Sue Kim is a multidisciplinary artist born in Seoul, now living and working between Paris and Milan. Her work focuses on observing and collecting everyday objects—used, discarded, or overlooked—and reorganizing and reinterpreting them within space. Through this process, the objects lose their functionality, becoming purely matter—form, color, texture, and sound—to imagine a new physical space beyond anthropocentrism. The deconstruction and reconstruction of everyday elements invite us to rethink relationships between humans and non-humans, living and inanimate beings, offering a critical perspective on the development of our society.
